ABOUT ANNIE
Annie is a writer and artist who is inspired by transience, change and play. She works with materials found on the lands of Naarm. Join Annie for workshops in the commons: in the community garden, the wetland and Birrarung, at the library, community centre and at home. Suitable for all ages and abilities, her workshops focus on natural pigments, upcycled materials, story and play. Her bookmaking workshops are an opportunity to make precious gifts from the textures of nature.
Annie has worked as a writer in community, managed social and community engagement programs, been a researcher and writer in environment and sustainability and assisted with end of life care. She holds a Doctorate of Creative Arts (2003) investigating an engaged writing practice at a time of change. You can access her thesis here.
In 2024 Annie closed her practice in end of life care to focus on writing and community projects - her blog retains great resources about funerals, conversations, donating a body to science and more in the death literacy department.
“Annie creates a feeling of relationship with oneself and with others and the land and plants and all the things interconnecting in a joyful process of exploration. Yet you always know where you are because of her good instructions.”
