ABOUT ME

Annie is a writer and artist who is inspired by transience, change and play. She works with materials found on the lands of Naarm. Her versatile workshops and projects invite you to make special pictures, with natural pigments, on upcycled paper and fabric. Her bookmaking workshops use these materials to make precious gifts. Join Annie in the commons: in the garden, the wetland and Birrarung, at the library, community centre and at home.

Annie’s wide experience includes working as a writer in community, managing social and community engagement programs, researching and teaching in environment and sustainability and assisting in end of life care. She holds a Doctorate of Creative Arts (2003) investigating an engaged writing practice at a time of change. You can access her thesis here.

In 2024 Annie closed her practice in end of life care to focus on writing and community projects.

“Annie creates a feeling of relationship with oneself and with others and the land and plants and all the things interconnecting in a joyful process of exploration. Yet you always know where you are because of her good instructions.”
